Marvel is just a marvelous puppy. Actually, he
has been my favorite from the beginning. He recognized me at under
four weeks of age - and was terribly challenging to photograph because
he was always next to me or in my lap. His siblings took another
week more more to recognize me as a significant entity in their lives.
Marvel is a pensive pup, like his father. He is thoughtful, but
doesn't lack any spunk or drive. He is very endearing, loving,
loyal and kind. He is also likely to get himself into a bit of
puppy trouble, but has learned to shut down his grand desires to use the
kittens as litter mates, with a verbal warning and will look us right in
the eyes when he knows that we have corrected him (you can see an
example of this on the video).
He will make an excellent performance dog (Agility, Obedience, Herding, SAR etc...), or exceptional companion for an active individual or family. Marvel has great structure and is very agile and physically competent. The video below is taken at 10 weeks old.. Marvel had been reserved by a Search & Rescue handler, but when I gave her the choice between Marvel and his remaining sister, she chose to take home Fate. It was a better fit for her personality to take the most tenacious pup in the litter (everyone else who met Fate realized she was "too much" puppy for them). But the SAR handler, who is accustomed to handling working-bred German Shepherd Dogs was better suited to Fate's somewhat "over the top" drive and doggedness. She did, however, state multiple times that she would have taken both if she had the funds and it took her quite a while to let go of the idea of taking home the sweeter, more endearing, and probably more clever pup because of the job she expects her dog to perform (Special Ops SAR work in alligator infested everglades doing cadaver work!) So, perhaps it is "fate" that Marvel remains for the right person to find him. If you think you are that person, please feel free to contact us or submit an application .

| Marvel is AKC registered, microchipped, wormed at regular intervals, and up to date on vaccinations. His CERF exam (board certified ophthalmologist) was normal (unaffected with CEA/CH). | ||

| Smooth vs. Rough coat cannot be determined until around 5-6 weeks old. There is no guarantee regarding the coat length. There is no guarantee as to the ear set of a puppy, as it is impossible to discern in young puppies. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

you have very specific expectations regarding markings and coat type,
sending a deposit (after the application is approved) will give you a higher
rank when the puppies are chosen around six weeks of age.
No puppy can leave DarnFar Ranch until it is 8 weeks of age. |

| Approved puppy buyers may come and see the litter once they are 5 weeks old. Please do not request a visit before that time. If you are planning to come prior to the pick up date to choose your puppy, we recommend you come no earlier than 6 weeks of age, as before then they simply don't have as much personality and they fall asleep quickly after playing for a short time. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If you have a high ranking on the pick order list and do not plan to come for your puppy until it is ready to go home at 8 weeks old, you may be asked to make your decision from remote. This is to permit others, who have a lower ranking on the pick list, to choose and come for their puppies before, perhaps, you intend to arrive to take home your puppy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
