BEGINNER OBEDIENCE CLASS |

This eight week course meets
once per week on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM. |
|
| |
A new class begins approximately
every eight weeks. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Beginner obedience classes are a
great option for folks who are interested in learning how to train their own
dog. Method fundamentals are explained the first night and utilized
throughout the class. |
|

Each evening one or more new
exercises are explained and each week all exercises are practiced. |
|
| |
Beginner Obedience at DarnFar
far exceeds a typical training class because we believe in providing
learning in a "real" environment with real distractions. |

If you follow the instruction
presented in class, at the end of eight weeks your dog will: |
|
| |
Walk properly on a loose lead
and not pull you or resist walking with you |
|
| |
Sit, lie down and stay in
the presence of distractions, and not get up until you release the
dog |
|
| |
Stand still to be examined by a
vet or groomer, allow for teeth, eyes, ears to be examined |
|
| |
Remain calm and controlled when
you and your dog meet and greet another person and dog |
|
| |
Come when called |
|
| |
No longer jump up or charge
through doors |
|
| |
"Leave it" when you command, so
that the dog won't go after cats, other dogs, food or other objectives |
|
| |
|
|
| |
This class prepares a dog and
handler for the
AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
|
|
| |
Available to all dog 18 weeks old and up.

ADVANCED OBEDIENCE & AGILITY |
|
| |
This is a continuous training option for
all graduates of a Beginner Class. Keep training for fun and
socialization while working towards the CGC, TDI, AKC Companion Dog or Rally
Obedience title and towards Agility competitions. Half of the class is
dedicated to Obedience and the other half to Agility training.
Dogs that have not graduated
from a DarnFar Beginner class can enter the Advanced class after they have
been evaluated. The evaluation consists of the Beginner Graduation
exercises, lasts about 30 minutes and costs $15. |
