| Our comprehensive
one day workshops are offered to dog owners of any level
of training. The Basic level is geared towards beginners.
We also offer an Intermediate level Workshop which typically
culminates in an AKC CGC Evaluation. |
| |
| Many owners
complain that they simply do not have the time to take their dog
to an 8 or 12 week class, or their schedules do not coincide
with lesson times. Some do not have the resources to
take advantage of our highly successful Board & Train option. |
| |
| A Workshop is a great option for folks who have taken a Beginner class in the
past, but would like a refresher. |
| |
| We have developed a
one day workshop that covers all of the most frequently used
commands like sit, down, stay, heel and come as well as typical
manners issues like waiting at the door, jumping up and going
after things like food or small animals (the "leave it"
command). And, you can count on us to help you establish
very high standards of behavior for your dog which will result
in reliable responses to the commands, even in the presence
of distractions. |
| |
| Interesting
lectures about training philosophies and canine psychology are also
included in the workshop. |
| |
| The goal of the
course is to educate dog owners how to train their own dogs as
well as to provide them with all of the information they will
need to continue their dog's training at home. |
| |
| This is a hands-on
class. Bring your dog and be ready to see him transform
before your very eyes into a compliant, happy companion. |
| |
| Participants in the
class receive a certificate, suitable for framing. |
| |
- We currently offer a Basic /
Beginner level Workshop and an Intermediate Level Workshop
that culminates in a CGC Test. The CGC test is not a
requirement for entry in the Intermediate Workshop. You
may simply observe the Test.
|
- We typically schedule the
Intermediate level Workshop on Sunday after a Basic level
Workshop on Saturday. This allows folks from out
of town to take full advantage of their trip, especially if
they have a couple of dogs.
|
- Enter the same dog in both
Saturday and Sunday for a full weekend of training and entry
into the CGC Test.
|
- Enter your CGC-ready dog in
just the Sunday event to get some instruction and training
before the CGC Test.
|
- Bring a couple of dogs - enter
your younger dog in the Saturday, Basic workshop and your
older dog in the Sunday event to achieve your CGC!

Actions, Attitudes and Aptitudes Of Dogs & Their People |
|
in
just one day! |
| |
| Workshops are
limited to 8 participants in order to provide sufficient
one-on-one time to all participants. |
| |
| Dogs six months and
older are welcome to attend the Workshops. If your dog is
under six months, you may want to consider a
"New Puppy
Consultation" to get you jump started prior to entering a
Workshop. |
| |
| Workshop
participation includes a 27 page booklet of supplementary information,
that can be used as a valuable reference guide. |
| |
| Workshops are held
at DarnFar Ranch as well as satellite locations. If you
would like to host a workshop, please feel free to
contact us to schedule a workshop in your area. |
| |
| For groups that
have training underway, the One Day Workshop can be tailored to
address areas specific to their needs and / or culminate in an
AKC CGC Test. |
| |
| PLEASE NOTE:
Although we can address some minor aggressive behaviors
during a Workshop, dogs with serious aggression issues are
better served in our professional, Board / Train rehabilitation
program or private instruction. Please feel free to
contact us about our other
training options. |

Just a quick note to tell you how much both Diane and I enjoyed
the class on Saturday. The day flew by and there was just so
much great stuff in your presentation and exercises. Everything
was so well planned and carried out and fun. We talked about
everything on the trip back home…. Did you see how Ellie did
this, did you see how Hope reacted….boy didn't that make a lot
of sense what Tammie said about this and so forth. It has been a
long time since Both Meg and Sugar had gone to an 8 week
puppy class at a place around our home and that didn't even come
close to what you offer.
Every part of the
class was so informative, interesting and fun, your passion for
what you are doing really came through loud and clear as well as
your deep knowledge and years of experience. I know on you
website you say at the end of the day you will take home a new
dog and that is true, while I can't speak for everyone I can
honestly say that our dogs also took home new guardians. We
understand that the ball is in our court now and all the
information in the world means nothing unless we follow through
and use it. We are diligently practicing CIT MEANS SIT not only
with Ellie and Hope but with Meg and Sugar too, everyone is
going to be on the same page.
All that aside
it was just plain nice to see you and Robert again and hopefully
there will be more opportunities to do just that. We are sure
glad to be part of the DarnFar family. |
