| DarnFar lambs
are raised without antibiotics, without hormones on chemical free pastures.
They are allowed to graze naturally, in the fresh air and sunshine. Our
lambs are never fed animal based protein. We specialize in producing lamb that is exceptionally lean, which also means it is very mild tasting. The pungent flavoring in meat comes from the fat. We choose to raise breeds of sheep that are naturally lean and do not have the large covering of fat found in some of the traditional, wool breeds. When you buy DarnFar lamb, you will be purchasing meat, not fat, and it promises to be nutritious, delicious and very tender. Most importantly, you will know where your meat comes from which can provide a level of confidence and assurance you can't find in the supermarket. We are no longer selling processed lamb, although we may do so again in the future. We can, however, still sell you a whole live lamb that we will deliver to a processor to be cut to your specifications. We recommend Schubert's, which is a USDA Federally inspected facility, but we will deliver a lamb to other facilities in the area, depending upon where you want to go to pick up your meat. We sell a whole lamb (under 11 months of age) that is between 80-95 lbs live weight for $150. There is a delivery charge to the processor of your choice. You will also have to pay the processor. The fee will vary depending upon how you want your lamb butchered. You may also pick up your live lamb at the ranch and deliver it to the processor yourself.
