Little dog with the so big heart
With attitude to spare
Courageous little herding dog
Stole my heart before I was aware
Little dog with the so big heart
They’d all say, “she’s cute as a button”
Controlled her sheep like she owned our hearts
With such enthusiastic abandon
Little dog with the so big heart
Feared nothing in her way
Lived her life with wholehearted delight
Then, left us empty one January day
Little dog with the so big heart
Now lays ‘neath the willow tree
By the pond on the farm where she lived her life
Where her essence will always be
